Purchased several name brand magnets like this and silicone always ended up tearing within three to six months and they cost $20-$25. This is the best one I have found. I was amazed by the difference and how well this one has held up. I read books on my iPhone 14 Pro, so this is a must for me. I haven’t really had any problems with the magnet. I guess it depends what size of phone or device you use it on. Sure, if I drop my phone it might pop off, but that isn’t a deal breaker for me. I can hold my phone by the magnet with no problems. Have had this one for a year with no tears and still holding strong.
